The Rec Center is a fun place to visit while staying at Indian acres. We offer various activities and have lots of fun things for the entire family. The Rec Center has a wide variety of games/sport equipment available to rent for FREE!

Swimming Pools

The swimming pools are a great place to visit on a hot summer day. We have 3 pools available to have all the fun a family could imagine. The largest pool has a maximum depth of 12 feet and we have a waterslide running all pool hours.

Putt-Putt Course

Our 18-hole Putt-Putt course is certainly a family favorite at Indian Acres. All putters and balls can be rented in the Rec Center for FREE!

Playgrounds

Indian Acres has several playgrounds across the campground. Bring the children for lots of fun. Open all hours.

Basketball Courts

Indian Acres has 2 full size basketball courts outside of the Rec Center. Basketballs are available to rent in the Rec Center for FREE!

Tennis Courts

Indian Acres has 3 full size tennis courts located behind the Rec Center. Tennis and pickleball equipment are available to rent from the Rec Center for FREE!

Lakes & Docks

Come enjoy our 5 lakes that are available at Indian Acres. There are various docks on the lakes for fishing. There are also many boat landing locations so you can enjoy the lakes from your boat. Indian Acres allows electic boat motors ONLY.

Teepee

Indian Acres has a large pavilion that is known as the Teepee. This is a location where many events are held such as DJs, fundraisers, parties, and many more.

The are comfort stations conveniently located throughout Indian Acres. Many of the comfort stations have showers and stay open all year long. Some stations are closed during the winter months.

The Laundromat is located next to 17-A Comfort Station near the TeePee.

There is an easement around each lake for fishing access. Boats and docks are private property. Please respect lot owners and their property by not fishing from their lot. You must have a valid fishing license issued by Virginia Department of Natural Resources.

The Trading Post is an onsite convenience store. You never have to leave Indian Acres to pick up the most common camping neccessities. The trading post is located on the outer ring of the caravan circle at the entrance to Indian Acres.

The Tee Pee is located in the circle as you enter Indian Acres. Picnic tables are available on a first come first serve basis. During Holiday Events & Festivals, the Tee Pee maybe reserved for Dances, DJ, Bands, Etc...

Indian Acres is guarded by it's own Security Force 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your vehicle is subject to search at anytime by an IACT Security Guard while inside Indian Acres.

In case of Emergency

Dial 911 first. Then notify Indian Acres Security so they can allow emergency vehicles inside the gate and escort them to your location.

According to IACT's Governing Documents, the Officers of the Corporation and the IACT Security Department have the duty and responsibility to enforce all rules & regulations relating to the Campground.
 

BREAKING & ENTERING, DISTURBANCE or THEFT

If you believe a BREAKING & ENTERING, DISTURBANCE or THEFT is occurring or has occurred, please contact IACT Security.
It is recommended to KEEP A LOG OF YOUR VALUABLES with serial numbers and photographs in order to locate and recover your belongings. IACT Security can provide you with a form to log household & personal items, appliances, etc.
Ask for the CRIME SOLVERS PACKAGE.
 

Parking at the Caravan Circle

PRIOR to PARKING at the CARAVAN CIRCLE, paperwork must be completed and a permit must be obtained from IACT Security.
Parking at the Caravan Circle is prohibited one (1) week prior to Holiday Weekends.

Please remember to be courteous to the Golf Carts on the road. They can not travel as quickly as cars.
 

Golf Course

Vehicles and Motor Bikes are prohibited on the GOLF COURSE at all times.
Golf Carts are permitted while playing golf only! Violators will be ticketed.
 

Registration

Golf carts, motor bikes, scooters, fun carts, mini dune buggies, and etc. must be registered with IACT Security each year.

REGISTRATION HOURS:

9:00am - 4:00pm daily
(No registrations on Holiday Weekends).

FEES:

$15.00 annually Motor Bikes, Scooters, Fun Carts / Mini Dune Buggies / Golf Carts

The use of ROLLER BLADES, ROLLER SKATES, SKATEBOARDS, etc. is permitted in the Inner Caravan Circle and Tee Pee only, BUT is prohibited during Holiday Weekends and Special Events.
 

ALL ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES

Age Restriction: No one under the age of 16 may operate a golf cart, fun cart/mini dune buggy, ATV, motor scooter, dirt bike, 2, 3 or 4-wheeler, or other alternative motorized vehicle at IACT.

Registration/Re-Registration and Safety Inspection Requirements:

1.  All alternative motorized vehicles operated on IACT property are required to be registered and undergo a safety inspection by November 1 annually which is valid for one year.
2.  A $15 ANNUAL registration fee must be paid at the time of registration or at each annual renewal for golf carts. (Fee subject to review/chang annually.)
3.  Registration/re-registration/safety inspections are conducted through IACT Security Department DAILY between the hours of 9:00a.m. through 4:00p.m., with the exception of holiday weekends.
4.  IDENTIFICATION of the glen and lot number MUST be affixed (not writtten in marker) to the front and rear of the vehicle in a manner that numbers and letters are of a size suitable to be read in normal daylight from a distance of thirty (30) feet. Recommended size is three inch (3") lettering.
5.  Golf carts MUST be equipped with two (2) permanent affixed headlights (preferable Halogen), spaced as far apart as possible, two (2) red or orange tail lights, also spaced as far apart as possible, glen and lot numbers, and at least one (1) rearview mirror.
6.  Each fun cart/mini dune buggy MUST be equipped with an eight foot (8') safety flag.
7.  A RELEASE FROM CIVIL LIABILITY form must be completed by the owner, operator, and in the case of minor operator (under 18 years of age), by the parent(s) or guardian(s). Forms are available at the IACT Security Department.
8.  A CURRENT INSURANCE POLICY that contains a minimum of $100,000 in personal liability insurance for each alternative motorized vehicle must be presented at the time of registration/re-registration.
9.  Change of ownership. If ownership of a vehicle changes, it MUST be re-registered under the name and glen/lot of the new owner.
 

Lights on your funstead

Lights that are continuously on and unattended are not permitted. Please turn off your lights during the day and when your funstead is not in use. DUSK to DAWN LOW WATTAGE SECURITY LIGHTS are PERMITTED.
 

Entrance into IACT

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR IACT PASS WITH YOU FOR ENTRY INTO THE CAMPGROUND. IACT SECURITY WILL RANDOMLY CHECK IDENTIFICATION OF ANYONE ENTERING IACT PROPERTY TO CONFIRM VALIDITY OF MEMBERSHIP CARDS & GUEST PASSES.

A "Delinquent Member shall refer to any member owner who is not current in payment of any annual charge and/or any assessments set or authorized by the Board of Directors with respect to any and all lots owned by the member."

It is a violation of IACT's Governing Documents for a delinquent member to enter IACT property on a guest pass. "A Delinquent Member has only the right of direct ingress and egress only to his/her lot, to the absolute exclusion of the use and enjoyment of the facilities and services of the Association."
 

Owner's Responsibility & Guest Passes

YOU, the property owner, are RESPONSIBLE for anyone entering IACT on your GUEST PASS. All members in good standing (current in membership dues accounts) are given 10 guest passes. All persons 6 years of age & older must have a valid pass. Guest passes CANNOT be left at the Security Gate.

ANIMALS / PETS

"No animals or livestock of any description, except the usual household pets, shall be kept on any campsite." All pets must be under control at all times and are prohibited from creating a public health problem. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please be courteous to your fellow funsteaders and promptly clean-up / pick-up waste, secure in a plastic bag and discard. Pets are prohibited from entering any IACT Amenity (Comfort Stations, Trapp Farm, Administration Building, etc.) with the exception of seeing eye dogs.
 

ATTENTION FISHERMEN!

VIRGINIA RESIDENTS (16 YEARS OF AGE & OLDER) AND OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS (12 & OLDER) MUST HAVE A FISHING LICENSE TO FISH IN THE IACT LAKES! OWNING PROPERTY AT INDIAN ACRES DOES NOT QUALIFY YOU AS A RESIDENT OF THE STATE FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING A FISHING LICENSE. Fishing regulations and information here.

DURING SEVERE STORMS, the LOWER LEVEL OF THE CLUBHOUSE is available as SHELTER for the duration of the storm.

TAMPERING WITH IACT COMFORT STATION HEATERS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED.

PLEASE GIVE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES. Pull to the right side of the road to permit emergency vehicles to pass by you. IT COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH!

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE GEESE!

ANYONE WHO HAS WALKED AROUND THE CAMPGROUND HAS EXPERIENCED THE OBSTACLE COURSE OF WALKING AROUND "DROPPINGS" LEFT BY THE CANADIAN GEESE! THE GEESE REMAIN AT IACT OVER THE WINTER FOR THE WATER IN OUR LAKES & PONDS AND BECAUSE OF THE FOOD SUPPLIED TO THEM BY IACT MEMBERS AND GUESTS! PLEASE DO NOT ENCOURAGE THE GEESE TO BE YEAR 'ROUND RESIDENTS AT IACT!

There are two full size basketball courts in front of the administration office. There is overhead lighting on the courts to allow play even up into the evening. All members and guests with valid membership or guest cards are permitted to use the courts. The courts are on a first come first serve basis.

Basketball courts are for basketball use only.

NO SKATEBORDING, BIKING, OR ROLLERBLADING ON COURTS.
 

Priority of Play

  • Court changes are made on the hour or game.

  • Players waiting to play have first priority to play next game.

The baseball / softball field is on a first come first serve basis. If you wish to reserve the baseball field, please use the special events form (form needed) or contact the administration office.

Indian Acres features a 9 hole golf course that is free of charge to all valid members and guests.

No golf carts are permitted on the course unless you're playing golf.

Horse Shoe Pits are located next to the administration office and are on a first come first serve basis. On most holiday weekend a tournament is held and play is limited to those playing in the tournament. There is overhead lighting to allow play even up into the evening. All members and guests with valid membership or guest cards are permitted to use the pits.

  • Players waiting to play have first priority to play next game.

Miniature Golf is on a first come first serve basis. You can obtain putter and balls at the Recreational Center. A pass is needed for each participant to receive putter and balls.

Indian Acres features several playgrounds throughout the park.

Playground

Indian Acres has it's own shooting range exclusively for valid members and guests. To access the range you must be a member of the Sportman's Club, hold a valid hunter's safety card, and obtain the range safety flag from Security.

Range flag must be raised on flagpole before firing.

Swimming Pool

Pools are scheduled to open for your enjoyment beginning MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND and closes on LABOR DAY WEEKEND.

We have three pools for your enjoyment.
The big pool has a water slide.     
                   

The lap pool has a ramp for wheelchair access along with a chair for handicap accessibility.

POOL RULES FOR WATER SAFETY:

NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 12 IS ALLOWED IN THE POOLS WITHOUT SOMEONE OVER 18

 MUST HAVE YOUR IACT PASS TO ENTER THE POOLS (PLEASE BE PREPARED TO SHOW TO ATTENDANT) 
  • PROPER SWIMSUIT ATTIRE REQUIRED (APPROVED SWIM SHIRTS AUTHORIZED) , NO BAGGY SHIRTS, CUTOFF JEANS, OR T-SHIRTS 
  • INFANTS MUST WEAR SWIMMERS IN THE POOL (THESE ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN THE REC CENTER) 
  • NO WATER WINGS, FLOATS, FOOTBALLS,BASKETBALLS, BEACH BALLS ALLOWED IN POOLS.  ONLY LIFEGUARD APPROVED DEVICES ALLOWED 
  • NO FLOTATION DEVICES IN THE DEEP END OF THE POOL
  • IT IS OK TO BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS & UMBRELLAS TO THE POOL
  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED 
  • SMOKING AND VAPING WILL BE PERMITTED AT THE MAIN POOL IN THE DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA (ONLY ALONG THE FENCE LINE AT THE DEEP END OF THE POOL)
  • NO GLASS BOTTLES
  • DO NOT PUT CIGARETTE BUTTS OUT ON THE DECK, BUTT CANS ARE AVAILABLE
  • NO ANIMALS ALLOWED IN POOL AREA 
  • PLEASE SHOWER BEFORE ENTERING POOLS
  • NO PROFANITY ALLOWED
  • No Backflips
  • Adult/Safety Swim (3 & under are allowed with the adult if being held) kids are NOT allowed to keep feet in the water during the Adult/Safety swim nor are they allowed to sit on the pool steps.

There are three tennis courts next to the pools. All members and guests with valid membership or guest cards are permitted to use the courts. The courts are on a first come first serve basis.

Tennis courts are for tennis use only.

NO SKATEBORDING, BIKING, OR ROLLERBLADING ON TENNIS COURTS.

Priority of Play

  • Court changes are made on the hour.

  • Play is limited to one hour for singles and two hours for doubleswhen other people are waiting.

  • Players who have used the court for a fraction of the hour must vacate on the hour when others are waiting to play.

Tennis Courts

The volleyball courts are located in front of the Administration Building next to the basketball courts.

Volleyballs may be checked out from the Recreation Center.  Just bring in your pass to sign one out.
